My math problem
Maeve had 1034 lego bricks and Evie had 576 lego bricks how many do they have altogether?

Hi Zara. This is a good juicy problem to share. I use place value to help me add larger numbers. I think of 1034 as 1000+30+4 and 576 as 500+70+6, then I add them together. So 1000+500=1500 and 30+70=100 and 4+6=10, then I add them together 1500+100+10= 1610. Have I got it right? Is that how you would solve it?
